Thermal Identification Tape™ Small - Brown (3.75" x 150')
Thermal Identification Tape is a Mid and Far wavelength infrared (thermal) reflective marker that provides a simple covert marking solution for identi-fying assets on today’s battlefield. To the naked eye, thermal tape is flat desert brown in color con-sistent with today’s camouflage. However, when viewed with a thermal sensors / viewer, this special-ly formulated material will reflect a black “cold” sig-nal in open-air environments.
Thermal Identification Tape is similar to brown duct tape in appearance, and is available in a 3.75” inch or 48” inch wide rolls, with a pressure sensitive ad-hesive (peel and stick) backing. Thermal Identifica-tion Tape is flexible, easily cut with conventional scissors or blades, and can be adhered to variety of surfaces including cloth and metal.
Thermal Identification Tape is used exclusively by the U.S. Army for its Combat Identification Panels (CIP). These panels are used to reduce friendly fire incidents among allied ground forces and represent an integral part of today’s Joint Combat Identification Marking sys-tem (JCIMS). CIPs are typically mounted on the sides of vehicles. Thermal Identification Panels (TIP), also utilize Thermal Identification Tape, and are typically mounted on the hood and/or back of the vehicle. TIP are soft panels and can be folded up for storage, while CIP are hard panels and permanently affixed to vehi-cles
