Description

Construction

This rifle clearing trap is built from steel and coated with a durable polyurethane coating.  The chamber consists of a steel tube which surrounds an inner armour-steel chamber to prevent bullets from escaping.  The chamber is then filled with rubber mulch to absorb bullets and contain potential spalling.

Instructions? That seems appropriate.

With the safety engaged and finger off the trigger, insert the muzzle of your firearm 2-3″ past the rubber blowback gasket, ensuring muzzle is not pressed against rubber mulch inside.  Verify the barrel is parallel to (inline with) the clearing trap’s chamber.  Disengage the safety and fire.  This is an added safety step, so ideally no rounds will be fired. In the event that rounds were still in the firearm, they will be fired and contained safely in the clearing trap.

Maintenance

The rubber should be replaced after every 50 rounds discharged to ensure maximum safety.  To replace the rubber remove the top flange and gasket, tip the clearing trap in the direction of the opening and rest opening on the ground. Remove the rubber and spent bullets.  Tip the trap back upright and refill the chamber with our rubber replacement pack.  Reassemble the gasket, top flange, and bolt until tight.  Your rifle clearing trap is once again ready for service.

The all-weather polyurethane coating protects from rust and resists damage. Regardless of this protection, do not leave the clearing trap in an area where it can fill with water (direct exposure to rain, roof runoff etc.).
